In fact,my mother had no intention of getting a second cat! ︎ She was working hard mentally and physically as a family of four, doing housework, childcare, and taking care of one cat and goldfishes, alone. The only housework her husband does is take out the garbage.(still now)
My older sister worked hard to find a foster home, and a few days after picking up her tabby cat, her classmate who runs a fruit and vegetable store decided that it would be okay to keep a cat as long as it was a mouse trap for the store.
I remember seeing my mother on the phone.
"Mice? This cat looks like it's going to catch them. Yeah, I really think it is …" ←out of the desire to foist a cat
``Huh, is that so?'' I thought.
A few days later, Tora-chan was moved to the warehouse of a fruit and vegetable store. "Okay, cat, I'll go home. Catch mice, please!" Rattle Rattle Rattle Pishaaaaan! (collision noise of shutters)This made Tora-chan despair.

青果店のねずみ捕獲員に任命された猫
これにて一件落着に見えたが、しかし‼︎
実は、母に2匹目の猫を飼う意思はなかった‼︎家族4名のワンマン家事・育児に猫1匹の世話で、すでに精神的に精一杯だったのである。「うちは飼えない里親探そう」と母。
夫のやる家事はゴミ出しだけ。
姉が懸命に里親探しをした結果、トラちゃんを拾ってから数日後、青果店を営む姉の同級生が、「店のねずみ捕りのためなら飼ってもいい」と、申し出てくれたのである。
母が電話をしているところを覚えている。
「ねずみ？この猫、捕りそうですよ。捕りそうだと思いますけど」押し付けたい一心。
「そうなんだ…」とワタシは思った。
その数日後——トラちゃんは、青果店の倉庫に移動となった。「じゃ、俺帰るから、ネズミ、よろしく！」ガラガラガラガラピシャーン！これにトラちゃんは、絶望した。
チューチュー キキキ
実はトラちゃんは、狩りがてんでダメ。
※ちなみに、この青果店は、もうありません。そのお店にそんなにネズミはいなかったろうと思うけど、漫画的な誇張表現で、いっぱい描いちゃいました！あしからず。
