欧米の人は、よくベンチや椅子の座面に靴底を付ける。
初めて見た時は、ビックリして、目を疑った。
これを日本人がやるのを見たことは一度もない。
ぜひこれは日本ではおやめください。
例えベンチじゃなくても、人が座りそうな場所では、日本では、靴底はもちろん、靴のかかとなどの靴の側面でも、付けるのはやめていただきたいです。一般に日本人は、見知らぬ他者への清潔への配慮が必要なのです。夜景の写真を撮るためにポーズ。ちょっと一休み。欧米人に限らず、東アジア系の方々もよく靴の側面を座面に付けるのをやる。
他にも、自動ドアのボタンを靴の裏でカンフーみたいに帰した白人の若者を見たが、私は日本でそんな人は一度も見たことはない。こういった行動は、ぜひ日本ではやめてくださいね。
アメリカで、若い女の子が横断歩道の信号待ちのボタンを押したのを見て汚ないなぁと思った。なので、ああ、欧米の若者の文化なんだなと思った。
日本人にとって、靴の裏は、非常に汚いものなのだ。家の床はもちろん、椅子やソファの座面も同様に、清潔にに保たなければならない。
「トイレの床を歩き回った、床に飛び散った他者の尿が付いている、雑菌まみれの靴底。それを家の床や椅子の座面になすりつけるだと!?ゾッとする。あり得ない。」という感覚を日本人は持っているのだ。禅寺の教育の結果である。
